Synergy

Overview

Within ArtCenter, students are facing a challenge in connecting with peers from different artistic disciplines. Students often face a knowledge gap and limited understanding of other majors, as there are insufficient ways for them to seek help or communicate seamlessly across disciplinary boundaries.

Learning Outcomes

Through developing Synergy, I gained insight into designing cross-disciplinary communication tools that address knowledge gaps, enhancing my skills in user-centered design to foster collaboration and understanding within diverse creative communities.

Problem Statment

Within ArtCenter, students are facing a challenge in connecting with peers from different artistic disciplines. Students often face a knowledge gap and limited understanding of other majors, as there are insufficient ways for them to seek help or communicate seamlessly across disciplinary boundaries.

Moreover, it reduced students’ possibility to gain inspiration and technical support from other majors. The gap would cause insufficient communication within the school and the isolation may result in a fragmented school community where students from one major have limited understanding or appreciation of the work and perspectives of their peers in other majors.

HWM Question

How might we enhance communication between students from different background?

How might we support the students who want to get inspired or collaborate across majors?

How might we make it easier for students from different majors to talk to each other and work together on projects?
